Burton & Garran
Burton Hall was built in 1965, Garran Hall commenced in 1966 then in 1983 to 2 halls combined to become Burton and Garran Hall. In 2015 we are celebrating our 50th birthday and we are trying to get in touch with all Burton and Garran alumni. We are planning on having a reunion 9th, 10th & 11th January giving the opportunity for alumni to return, stay in residence for a couple of nights and relive the old days. You can help by getting in touch with all your old friends and ex-residents and ask them to register with a ANU Alumni.
What’s on
We are planning on having a great weekend of celebrations in early January of 2015 which will culminate in a formal dinner in the function room on the Saturday night. Alumni will leave that weekend with a collection of momentos and a reconnection with the Hall. We have recently held a couple of Alumni events which have been very successful and valuable to both alumni and current resident alike.

Paul Riggs and Angela Riggs (formerly Angela Brock) .
100 people have responded as interested in the reunion so far.
Is there anyone around who was in Garren Hall in 1967 – I was there just for one year. But loved the place.
I’d be interested in the 1967 photos
Martha Rutledge was a subwarden in Burton Hall in 1965, and later the women’s deputy warden. She died on April 27, 2014 at the age of 77.

It sounds like a fun weekend and a great excuse to revisit Canberra. I was at Burton from 1976 to 1979 and had a memorable time!
